Authorities have identified and charged the man that caused high-speed police pursuit and fiery crash on Denton Highway.

Last January 16, local police officers responded to a major wreck Denton Highway just near West Loop 820. A Honda Accord was traveling along the highway at an unsafe speed when it collided with a Dodge pickup truck that was pulling into a parking lot. The truck bust into flames upon impact.

The Honda driver was identified as Charles Edmund Keisling, 30. He was reportedly driving erratically prior to the incident. Keisling has been charged with Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle – Serious Bodily Injury and Intoxication Assault – Serious Bodily Injury. His bond has been set at $7,500 and $10,000, respectively.

The driver of the pickup truck was rushed to a hospital and is currently in stable condition as of this writing. She was only identified as a Haltom City woman. She might have suffered from a possible concussion, according to police.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family of the injured victim of this unfortunate accident. We pray for their full recovery as we hope that the Haltom City Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.

Drunk driving in Texas commonly result in a serious injury and sometimes, death. While accidents are fortuitous events that cannot be foreseen, they can be prevented if only drivers had simply put their complete attention on the road and taken their responsibility as drivers more seriously. This is why, despite conscious efforts by government to combat the increasing number of fatalities and injuries every year, crashes due to negligence is still on the rise.

While it can be difficult to remain calm in a situation like this, it is important to know that you can be entitled to compensation and claims following a collision. If you or your loved one has been injured in a car accident caused by a negligent party or a driver under the influence of alcohol, you may be entitled to a legal injury compensation. Talk to your personal injury lawyer to learn more about filing a successful claim.
