Hale County – Plainview Man Died in Collision with a Reckless Driver on US 70

36-year-old Plainview resident who died in a fatal car accident on US 70 has been identified by Texas Department of Public Safety officials.
The fatality was identified as 36-year-old Juan Saucedo.
According to initial reports, the incident took place just before 6:00 a.m. Juan Saucedo was seen driving his vehicle along the westbound lane of US 70 when a northbound vehicle entered the intersection near Farm to Market Road 1424 on a red light, prompting a collision. The force of the impact pushed both vehicles to go off the roadway. Saucedo’s car overturned, ejecting him in the process. He was pronounced dead by emergency crews who responded to the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the second vehicle suffered from incapacitating injuries. He was rushed to Covenant Hospital in Plainview for treatment.
This crash remains under investigation by authorities.
