GALVESTON COUNTY, TX — A male driver crashed into a League City home Wednesday night after passing out from injuries sustained in a nearby shooting, reports Click2Houston.
League City Police said the crash happened in the 2500 block of Afton Court, less than a half-mile down from where the driver was shot.
An early investigation indicates the man had been shot in the leg during an incident involving two other men outside the Walmart on West Main Street. After the suspects fled toward the freeway, the victim drove a short distance down the road before he lost consciousness. His Cadillac then ran up over the median and into the front of the residence.
No one in the home or nearby area sustained serious injuries, but the driver was transported to a local hospital. Authorities said he was last listed in a Clear Lake hospital for a second surgery and is expected to recover from his leg injuries.
The impacted home was said to have received extensive damage to its front entrance, with walls shifted out of place. Plans for repairs were underway, but it was unclear whether any charges are expected to be filed.
An investigation and search for the shooting suspects remain ongoing.
