Grimes County – Woman Died in Fatal Vehicle Accident on Hwy 6

The Department of Public Safety is investigating an auto crash on Highway 6 in Grimes County which killed a woman, Sunday morning.
According to the report, the incident occurred at around 12:30 a.m. on the southbound lane of Highway 6, five miles of Navasota. A vehicle was traveling along the highway when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it drifted off the roadway and rolled over. The driver, whose identity has not yet been released, was thrown off the vehicle, killing him in the process.
At around 2:00 a.m., a vehicle approaching the scene did not see a Navasota deputy officer who was investigating the accident and struck him. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
No further details are provided at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
