Gregg County – Woman Died in Fatal Vehicle Crash on Highway 42

A two-vehicle collision on State Highway 42 near the city of White oak caused the death of a 61-year-old woman, Friday morning.
According to initial reports, the fatal car accident took place at around 7:12 a.m., two miles south of White Oak in Gregg County. A 2012 Chevrolet 2500 was heading north on Texas 42 when, for yet unknown reasons, it drifted onto the southbound lanes and crashed into a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. The impact of the collision killed the driver of the Silverado. She was pronounced dead by DPS officials.
The driver of the Chevrolet 2500 was rushed to a hospital in Longview for treatment. He was later identified as Michael Buenrostro, 61, of Longview.
Police are still determining what caused Buenrostro to cross over the opposing lanes. An investigation is underway.
