Gregg County – Cynthia Browne Murry Died in Fatal SH 300 Collision

The Texas Department of Public Safety has released the name of the victim who died in a fatal car crash on State Highway 300, Friday morning.
The fatality was identified as Cynthia Browne Murry, 66, a resident of Gilmer. She was pronounced at the scene by Judge Betterton and was taken to Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
Just after 7:00 p.m., a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup truck was heading north on SH 300 when it drifted into the southbound lanes and crashed into a 2020 Buick Enclave. The impact seriously injured Enclave’s passenger, Cynthia Murry. Meanwhile, the drivers of the Dodge and Enclave were both injured and taken to Longview Regional Hospital and Good Shepherd Medical Center respectively.
They were identified as Aaron Barbosa-Valerio, 23, of Gilmer, and Rucker Steven Murry, 65 of Gilmer.
Reports show that Barbosa-Valerio may have been speeding prior to the crash.
