Greenville – Motorcyclist Injured in Collision on SUV on I-30

A 59-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after colliding with a hit-and-run driver on Interstate 30, Saturday afternoon.
According to initial reports, the incident was reported at around 2:30 p.m. near Lee Street overpass. Police said that a group of motorcyclists were seen heading west on Interstate 30 when a gray SUV struck one of the riders who was hauling a small trailer. The force of the impact caused the trailer and the motorcycle to overturn a number of times. The rider, identified only as a 59-year-old man, sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was rushed to Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville.
No one else was injured.
The SUV driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim. His identification has not been released.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police found out that the SUV was attempting to pass the group prior to the crash.
