Greenville– Child Struck by Car on Lee Street

A tragic vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Lee Street resulted in the death of a child, last February 28, a local news source reported.
Just before 8:00 p.m., the Greenville Police Department was alerted of a collision in the 1400 block of Lee Street. According to initial reports, a child was walking on the railroad tracks when he was struck by a cargo truck. The impact of the collision left the pedestrian with serious injuries. He was pronounced dead by emergency crews who responded to the scene.
Authorities identified the victim as a 12-year-old child. His identification is pending until his immediate family has been notified.
