A single car crash on State Highway 273 resulted in the death of a boy and injuries to two people, Thursday morning.
Just before 10:00 a.m., an auto crash was reported on the southbound lane of Highway 273, about five miles north of McLean. An initial investigation shows that a 2005 Chevrolet Uplander had been traveling along the southbound lanes when, for reasons that had not been determined yet, it left the roadway, into the barrow ditch, and rolled over a number of times. The vehicle landed on its wheels in a pasture. As it overturns, police said that a passenger was thrown off the vehicle.
An 11-year-old boy from Pampa died on the scene and was pronounced deceased by responding officers. It was not determined if he was the one ejected from the car. Meanwhile, the driver and another child passenger, identified only as a 12-year-old boy from Pampa, were rushed to Pampa Regional Medical Center for treatment. They both sustained non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.
No further details are available as the investigation is still ongoing.
