Gray County – 69-year-old David Hestand Died in Motorcycle Collision on I-40

The Gray County Police Department has released the name of the motorcyclist who died in a fatal collision on Interstate 40, Sunday afternoon.
According to initial reports, the fatality was identified as 69-year-old David Hestand. He is an Altus, Oklahoma resident.
Just before 3:00 p.m., a motorcycle towing a trailer, which was operated by David Hestand, was seen traveling along the eastbound lane of I-40. Police said that the trailer started to sway causing the motorcycle to went out of control. Hestand was ejected from his motorcycle, leaving him seriously injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews.
No other injuries were reported at this time.
The Texas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident should get in contact with local investigators.
