Gladewater – Motorcyclist Injured on Highway 271

A hit-and-run driver is at large after a motorcycle accident on Highway 271, between Gladewater and Gilmer, Tuesday afternoon.
In an unspecified time last Tuesday, Gladewater police officers responded to Highway 271 after receiving a call reporting a collision. According to an initial investigation, a motorcycle was traveling along the highway when it got struck by a truck that was hauling a trailer. The rider of the motorcycle sustained injuries from the force of the impact. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition. His identification was not immediately released.
The driver of the truck escaped the scene of the accident. He was nowhere to be found when authorities arrived at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
