Gatesville – Friday Crash on State Highway 6 Kills Doctor Tommy Davidson

A fatal auto crash on State Highway 6 caused the death of a prominent chiropractor Dr. Tommy Davidson, DC, PhD, Friday afternoon.

Police said the incident occurred at around 2:00 p.m. on SH 6, just north of Waco. Davidson was driving a Volkswagen sedan along the southbound lane of SH 6 near Delmar Ranch Road when his car hydroplaned and ultimately went out of control. The sedan traveled across the northbound lane where it crashed into a passing 18-wheeler truck. The impact of the crash killed Davidson in the process. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the car sustained undisclosed injuries and was rushed to Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco for treatment.

The Gatesville police were requested at the scene to determine the conditions and factors that may have contributed to the crash. An investigation is underway.
