Galveston – Injuries Reported Following Crash on 81st Street

The Galveston Police Department is investigating a car accident that took place on 81st Street, Sunday, according to a local news source.

At around 7:15 p.m., local officers responded to a collision that happened at the intersection of 81st Street and Steward Road. Based on a preliminary investigation, two marked police vehicles somehow collided with each other. How the crash took place is yet to be determined by local officials but it was confirmed that the involved officers were responding to a call near Farm to Market 3005 Road.

At least one police officer sustained injuries as a result of the crash. He was taken to University of Texas Medical Branch for treatment for his injuries that were considered serious.

His identified has yet to be released by police officials.
