Galveston County – 2 Hurt, 1 Killed in Head-on Collision on Hwy 124

The driver of the vehicle involved in a car accident on Highway 124 in Galveston County was pronounced deceased, a local news source said.
According to the report, the incident occurred at the 2200 block of Highway 124. A car was seen traveling along the roadway when it drifted into the opposing lane and crashed into another car that was traveling in the opposite directions. The impact of the crash instantly killed the driver of the second vehicle. His passenger was rushed to a local hospital where he was listed in an unknown condition. Meanwhile, the driver of the first vehicle sustained critical injuries and was also hospitalized.
No other injuries were reported.
Investigators said the vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed prior to the crash. They have yet to determine if weather conditions played a role in the crash.
