Gaines County – Woman Died in Solo-Car Crash on US 180

The Texas Department of Public Safety released the name of the driver who was killed in a fatal vehicle accident on US Highway 180 in Gaines County.

The fatality was identified as 22-year-old Brianna Surrento. Police said Brianna Surrento was operating a vehicle along US Hwy 180 when it crashed into a cow that was in the middle of the roadway. It was not confirmed if Surrento was able to avoid the animal.

The impact of the collision seriously injured the driver. She was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Based on the initial investigation, Surrento was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.

An investigation is underway.
