Gaines County – Man Died Following US 62 Collision

The Seminole Police Department is conducting an investigation about a rollover collision on US Highway 62, Friday.

Preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle was seen traveling along the westbound lane of US 62, not too far from Hobbs, when it went out of control and overturned. The impact of the collision seriously injured the driver who was identified as the victim as 19-year-old Gerardo Soria by emergency crews. He was taken to the Lea Regional Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. Soria had no occupants at the time of the accident.

Area investigators were requested at the scene to determine the reason that caused Soria to lose control of the car.
