Fritch- Auto-Pedestrian Collision Kills One on Highway 136

Authorities have identified the victim of a pedestrian collision on State Highway 136 in Hutchinson County last Thursday.
Just after 3:00 p.m., the Fritch Police Department responded to the intersection of Broadway and Sheridan after receiving a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. According to reports, a man stepped out of his 1988 Ford F150 pickup truck after it encountered a mechanical issue near Broadway. As he was working on his truck, the vehicle’s drive train engaged, hitting him in the process.
The driver, identified as Budd Leroy Kerr, 63, sustained serious injuries from the crash. He was pronounced dead despite medical efforts by emergency crews.
No other injuries were reported.
The Texas Department of Public Safety arrived at the scene to assist in the investigation.
