Fredericksburg—One Killed in Plane Crash on Kerr Road

A fatal single-engine plane crash took the life of one person on Kerr Road just outside Fredericksburg last Thursday, officials say.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the plane went down at around 5:00 p.m. just west of Fredericksburg. The crash killed the pilot who was the only occupant during the time of the incident. He was only identified as a San Antonio man.

No other injuries were reported nor was any property damaged.

How the crash actually took place remains to be unknown. According to a witness, the plane hit the fence, caught fire, and went across the road. The main tank then blew up a few minutes after it hit the ground.

The case has been handed to FAA for further investigation.
