Franklin – Hit-and-run Collision on FM 46

A child was killed after getting hit by a vehicle on Farm to Market Road 46 near Morgan Lane.

Last Friday, a 6-year-old child was riding in a four-wheeler kart when a 2002 Ford Ranger traveling along FM 46 struck him. Instead of rendering aid to the child, the driver of the pickup truck sped off and left the scene. The child was taken by emergency crews to a nearby hospital where he received medical treatment for the injuries incurred from the crash. Unfortunately, she succumbed to his injuries a few days after.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford was later arrested and taken into custody for failing to offer aid to a victim. He was only identified as a 18-year-old driver.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
