Forest Hill – Pedestrian Collision on Mansfield Highway

A person was killed after getting struck by a car on Mansfield Highway, Saturday night, a local news source reported.
Just before 8:00 p.m., local responders were dispatched to Mansfield near Shackleford Street following reports of a crash. A man was walking across the highway when a passing vehicle struck him. The impact left the pedestrian with significant injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities withheld the victim’s identification pending notification of his next of kin.
No one else was injured.
DPS troopers did not confirm if the driver provided aid to the victim.
No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress. Anyone who has information relevant to the crash is encouraged to get in contact with police.
