Firefighter critically hurt by hit-and-run driver at Pasadena event

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A firefighter with Pasadena Fire was hospitalized Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle at an outdoor Christmas event in Pasadena, according to KHOU11.
PFD said the incident occurred at the intersection of Pasadena Boulevard and Dewberry Lane at around 8:40 p.m.
The firefighter was directing traffic for the city’s annual Santa Project event when he was struck by a speeding SUV, sending him nearly 30 feet away. Shortly after, the causing driver fled the scene.
Pasadena Fire said the victim was responsive and alert after the crash, but was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. As of this writing, he has been released from the hospital and is now recovering at home.
No further information has been released at this time regarding the suspect or suspect vehicle.
