Fire crews respond to collision on Houston Ave near downtown Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A major vehicle crash was reported Wednesday morning at an intersection near the Gulf Freeway in downtown Houston, according to City of Houston.

Houston police, firefighters, and EMS personnel all responded to the 500 block of Houston Avenue, near the North Memorial Way intersection, at around 9:36 a.m.

Houston Fire Department indicated crews had arrived to check on a patient, suggesting likely injuries to at least one person.

No further details have been disclosed, but as of this writing, Houston police reported no fatalities in the event.
