Female suspect killed in police chase on the Katy Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A female suspect was killed in a police chase on the Katy Freeway on the morning of Monday, December 21, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office reports.
@HCSOTexas units pursued a vehicle. Once the car came to a stop, 3 individuals fled from the scene. Two males were quickly apprehended, a female ran onto traffic & was struck by a private vehicle near the 16800 blk of Katy Fwy. Harris County Sheriff’s Office vehicles were pursuing the suspects who eventually came to a stop. Three vehicles got out of the car and fled — two male suspects were quickly detained. A female suspect ran onto the Katy Freeway and was hit by a car near the freeway’s 16800 block. She was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
It is not known why the HCSO was chasing the suspects.
