Elgin – Boy Struck by a Semi-Truck on Highway 290

A boy suffered from serious injuries after getting struck by a car on Highway 290, last Tuesday evening.
According to Elgin local officials, the incident took place at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 696 and Hwy 290. A six-year-old boy who was getting off a school bus was struck by an undescribed vehicle. The child, identified as Six-year-old Jairo Huitron, was immediately taken to a local hospital where he received medical treatment.
Authorities said he is expected to recover.
Elgin investigators arrived at the scene to determine liability. Anyone who has information about the case is encouraged to get in contact with them.
