Elderly man run over by car during west Houston robbery

HOUSTON, TX – The team at ABC 13 reports that an 83-year-old man was run over by his own car during a robbery in west Houston June 28.
The victim was standing in front of his vehicle inside a gas station parking lot at 12298 Beechnut Street when the suspect came up to him and started punching him repeatedly. The elderly man fell to the ground and the suspect got into his car, which was already running. The victim stood up and attempted to block the suspect from leaving, but the suspect ran him over with his own vehicle.
The man survived the collision and was able to describe the ordeal to police. His current medical condition is unknown at this time.
The car was later found abandoned in the 400 block of Synott. Authorities are now looking for the suspect. If you have any information about the incident, contact the Houston Police Department.
