Elderly man dies in hit-and-run on Elgin Street

HOUSTON, TX – An elderly man died in a hit-and-run crash on Elgin Street on Sunday morning, the Houston Police Department reports.

The victim, a 73-year-old man, was riding a bicycle near 4600 Texas Spur 5 when he attempted to enter the Elgin Street intersection. He was then struck by a vehicle of unknown make and model. After the accident, the striking vehicle did not remain at the scene to stop and render aid. The incident was reported around 8 a.m.
