El Paso – Motorcyclist ID’d Following Auto Crash on Montana Avenue

A 20-year-old Chaparral man was killed after getting into a collision with a vehicle on Montana Avenue in El Paso.

The fatality was identified as Ilian Sastres, 20, of Chaparral.

According to reports, the incident took place on Sunday afternoon along Montaa near Lee Trevino Drive. Sastres was traveling near the intersection when he suddenly stalled out as the signal at the cross street changes to green. A westbound Nissan Altima was not able to avoid the motorcyclist, striking Sastres in the process. He was pronounced deceased by responding officers.

The driver of the Nissan did not sustain any injury. It was not clear if he will be facing any charges.

The westbound lanes at Montana Avenue and northbound lanes at Lee Trevino were closed Sunday, reopening just before 10 p.m.
