El Paso law enforcement officials have released the name of the motorcyclist who died in a crash on Pellicano Drive last week.

The fatality was identified as 20-year-old Jeremy Landavazo. He is a 2018 Americas High School graduate.

According to initial reports, Landavazo was operating a 2008 Honda CBR motorcycle along the westbound lane of Pellicano Drive when he was struck by an eastbound 2019 Nissan Altima. Police said the Nissan was attempting to make a left turn to drive into AHS parking lot prior to the crash. The impact of the crash seriously injured Landavazo. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, Thursday morning.

Based on the initial investigation, the driver of the Nissan, identified as 38-year-old Christopher Madrid, failed to yield the right of the way to Landavazo.

The investigation continues.
