El Paso – Hit-and-run Crash on Transmountain Rd

A man was taken to the hospital following a pedestrian crash on Transmountain Road in El Paso, last Wednesday.
At approximately 7:30 a.m., a local firefighter was responding to a crash on Loop 375 near Resler Exit when he was hit by a passing vehicle described as a pickup truck. The firefighter, who was identified as Armando Lopez, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Local authorities said he was listed in stable condition.
The driver who struck Lopez had already escaped the scene when police arrived. His identification and whereabouts remain unknown at this time. Police said his vehicle might have windshield damage due to the crash.
No charges have been made as of this writing.
