El Paso – Collision with Semi-Trailer on Gateway West Boulevard Kills 1

A vehicle accident involving a semi-trailer occurred on Gateway West Boulevard, killing one person, early Friday morning.
Just before 4:00 a.m., El Paso local officers were requested at the 10700 block of Gateway West following a collision between a 009 Infiniti G-37 and a semitrailer. According to initial reports, the driver of the Infiniti G-37 was speeding along the westbound lane traffic when it crashed into a southbound semitrailer on Barranca Drive. Police said that the semitrailer was attempting to make a turn to Gateway West when it was rear-ended by a vehicle. The Infiniti G-37 came to a complete stop at approximately 400 feet from the scene of the collision. Its driver, identified only as a man in his early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. He died from the injuries sustained from the impact.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
