Edinburg – Auto Collision on Expressway 281 Leaves 1 Killed, 1 Hurt

Edinburg law enforcement officials are looking into a car crash that caused the death of one person on Expressway 281, according to a local news source.
Just after 2:00 a.m., local responders were dispatched to 4700 block of Expressway 281 near David Road following reports of a crash involving a Jeep Wrangler. According to the preliminary investigation, the Jeep was traveling along the highway when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it went out of control and veered into the opposing lanes.
It continued on and crashed into two more cars, leaving its driver seriously injured. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene. The driver of the other vehicle suffered from minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. He is expected to recover.
Authorities withheld the identifications of the victims.
