The Louisiana man who died in a single-car accident on US 385 has been identified by Ector County law enforcement officials, reports said.

According to the release, the victim was named Nicholas Coble of Louisiana. At around 2:30 a.m., Coble was reportedly driving along the northbound lanes when, for unknown reasons, it drifted into the southbound lanes and hit a curb. The vehicle then crashed into a fence and into a mobile home before coming to a complete rest.

Coble succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews.

Based on a preliminary investigation, the victim was not restrained during the time of the incident.

Area investigators are still determining the reason that caused the driver to lose control of the car and veered into the opposing lanes.

Further details will be released.
