Drunk driver kills woman in wrong-way collision on U.S. 59

HOUSTON, TX – A drunk driver killed a woman in a wrong-way collision on U.S. Highway 59 on the morning of Monday, November 16, ABC 13 reports.
The driver of a truck was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 59 when it hit an SUV head-on near the highway’s intersection with Highway 6. The woman driving the SUV did not survive the incident.
Authorities believe the wrong-way driver, 35-year-old Johnny Bladimir Martinez, was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was rushed to the hospital after the crash and is expected to survive.
Martinez is now facing criminal charges.
