Drunk driver kills one in crash on Bellaire Boulevard

HOUSTON, TX – A drunk driver killed a pedestrian in a collision on Bellaire Boulevard on June 11, according to the Houston Police Department.Â
Authorities say 26-year-old Jose Coj was driving his black Toyota Tundra while intoxicated when he struck two pedestrians walking in a crosswalk at 9900 Bellaire Boulevard. After hitting the victims, he attempted to flee the scene on foot but was later caught by police.
One of the victims was rushed to an area hospital where they were declared dead. The other pedestrian suffered a broken arm. Coj was taken to the hospital where he was confirmed to be intoxicated, and has been arrested.
