Drunk driver crashes into ambulance in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, TX-  A drunk driver crashed into an ambulance returning from a call in southwest Houston on Sunday morning, according to the team at KHOU 11.

The ambulance was returning to Houston Fire Station 51 after responding to a call when it was hit by a car at 6900 Bellaire Boulevard. The SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit the vehicle.

EMTs inside the ambulance were taken to the hospital as a precaution but were not seriously hurt. The driver was determined to be impaired and faces possible DWI charges.
