Drunk driver arrested for role in fatal head-on collision on Winkler Drive

HOUSTON, TX – A drunk driver was arrested for his role in a fatal head-on collision that took place on Winkler Drive last night, according to the Houston Police Department.

31-year-old Joshua Yante was driving a silver Nissan Versa near 9400 Winkler Drive when he lost control of his vehicle around 11:25 p.m. He then veered into oncoming traffic and hit a Chevrolet Silverado head-on.

Yante and his passenger were transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, his passenger, a 30-year-old woman, died of her injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was not seriously hurt.

Yante was determined to be intoxicated at the time of the wreck and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.
