Driver killed in single-vehicle wreck on W Loop N Fwy in NW Houston

HOUSTON, TX — One person died Friday evening after being ejected from their vehicle in a major collision on West Loop North Freeway in northwest Houston, reports KHOU11.
The crash occurred on the northbound lanes of the freeway, approaching U.S. Highway 290 at around 5:49 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates a driver was traveling north when they lost control of their vehicle and struck several barrel dividers. The impact of the crash caused the driver to be thrown from the car before landing on a roadway 30 to 50 feet below, where they were then hit by a vehicle.
Authorities have not disclosed more information on the circumstances behind the fatal event.
