Driver killed in single-vehicle crash on Airline Dr.

HARRIS CO., TX – A man was killed after his vehicle slammed into a utility pole in north Harris County on Saturday night.

According to ABC 13, the crash took place at about 11:30 p.m. within the 8500 block of Airline Drive, near the intersection with East Mitchell Road.

Investigators say the driver, Giovanne Garcia, was heading south on Airline Dr. when he struck the curb and slammed into a light pole. He was transported to HCA Houston Northwest Hospital, where he died a short time later.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Investigators are working to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
