Driver killed following rear-end crash in Deer Park

HOUSTON, TX – One person lost their life following a major rear-end crash involving a tractor-trailer in the Deer Park area on Tuesday morning.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at about 6:11 a.m. within the 7400 block of LaPorte Freeway, near the Independence Parkway interchange.

Police say an unidentified male driver slammed into the rear of an 18-wheeler.

The truck driver contacted emergency services and remained at the scene. The man in the striking vehicle suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
