Driver killed following 5-vehicle crash involving a propane truck in Dickinson

GALVESTON CO., TX – A driver was killed following a major collision involving a propane truck in Galveston County on Tuesday evening.

According to a report by KHOU, the crash occurred at about 4 p.m. near the intersection of Algoa-Friendswood Road and FM-517.

Investigators believe the driver of a westbound passenger vehicle veered into the oncoming lane and struck a propane truck. The initial impact caused the propane truck to overturn and collide with multiple other vehicles.

The driver in the at-fault vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the propane truck was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear if anyone else was hurt as a result of the crash.
