Driver killed after single-vehicle crash on Wayside Drive

HOUSTON, TX – A single-vehicle crash in northeast Houston resulted in at least one fatality early Monday morning, HPD reports.

The incident occurred at about 4:50 a.m. as the driver of a Chevrolet Impala was heading north within the 7000 block of North Wayside Drive.

Police say the vehicle jumped a curb and collided with a large roadside tree. The unidentified driver was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
