Driver killed, 2 hospitalized after rear-end crash on S Main Street

HOUSTON, TX – A driver was killed and two other people were hurt as a result of a rear-end crash on South Main Street early this morning, according to KTRK.

The collision happened at around 2 a.m. near the Beltway, as a Ford Explorer was either stopped in the roadway or going at a slow rate of speed. The driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck, a 47-year-old man, then struck the vehicle from behind.

Authorities pronounced the driver of the Explorer, a 47-year-old woman, deceased at the scene of the crash.

Her passenger and the second driver were taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

Authorities do not believe the driver of the pickup truck was under the influence when the accident occurred. Their investigation continues at this time.
