Driver impaled following rear-end collision with 18-wheeler

DEER PARK, TX – A man was killed after a gruesome collision involving an 18-wheeler in Deer Park on Tuesday morning.

According to a report by KTRK, the incident occurred within the eastbound lanes of SH-225, near the Underwood Road overpass.

Investigators say the truck driver was stopped with their lights on while waiting to make a delivery when a black Infiniti slammed into the rear of the flatbed.

The driver of the Infiniti, a man in his 30s or 40s, was impaled by a piece of rebar on the truck. He was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.
