Driver hits officer helping motorist on the Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A driver hit an officer helping a motorist alongside the Eastex Freeway this afternoon, the Houston Police Department reports.
Traffic Alert: Officers are on scene of a crash on the inbound lanes of 59 Eastex Fwy at Crosstimbers after a driver, possibly impaired, struck a Metro PD motorcycle & a vehicle.

The driver crashed into a Metro Police Department officer’s motorcycle and a nearby vehicle at the Eastex Freeway’s intersection with Crosstimbers. The officer was assisting a motorist at the time of the crash.
The officer and the individual he was helping were not injured. The driver, suspected of being prepared, was arrested following the incident.
