Driver flees after fatal crash on Ley Rd.

HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed as the result of a hit-and-run collision in northeast Houston on Monday evening.

According to a report by the Houston Police Department, the collision occurred at bout 6:35 p.m. within the 7500 block of Ley Road.

Investigators say the driver of a blue Mazda attempted to make the left turn from Homestead Road to Ley Road when the vehicle was struck by a Chrysler traveling through the intersection.

A backseat passenger in the Mazda was ejected in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver of the Chrysler fled the scene on foot before authorities arrived.
