HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A 40-year-old man died Monday night after a single-vehicle rollover crash in far northwest Spring, according to Montgomery County Police Reporter.
South Montgomery County Fire Department crews responded to the scene at Sawdust Road and Grogans Mill Road, just outside The Woodlands, shortly after 9:00 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the man was driving a Kia Soul eastbound on Sawdust Road at high speed when approached Grogans Mill Road and lost control at the curve in the roadway. The Kia hit a curb, sending it over the guardrail. It then rolled multiple times, striking several signs in the lot of the nearby Cube-Smart Storage. The car continued rolling and collided with an AT&T Communications box before making contact with a tree while standing almost on one end. Authorities said the car continued traveling for another 30 feet before coming to a stop on Rayford Court.
First responders arrived to find the male driver still inside the extensively damaged vehicle.
Crews removed the driver and applied life-saving measures for an extended amount of time, but the victim was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved, and no other injuries were reported.
As of this writing, authorities have not released any further information on the event.
