Driver dies after rollover accident on Holmes Rd in south Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A woman died Saturday night after a single-car rollover collision near South Loop East Freeway in Houston’s Greater OST/South Union area, according to Houston Police Department.

The fatal crash happened in the 4600 block of Holmes Road on March 5, at around 9:00 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates the woman behind the wheel of a silver Mini Cooper was heading westbound when she veered off the roadway. Moments later, the Mini Cooper collided with multiple trees, causing it to overturn.

Responding medics confirmed the victim, who was partially ejected in the crash, died from her injuries at the scene.

No other occupants were involved and no other injuries were reported.

HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate the accident.
