HOUSTON, TX — A man died early Monday morning in a single-vehicle accident in west Houston’s Deerfield Village area, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The fatal collision occurred in the 4300 block of Barker Cypress Road at around 12:42 a.m.

Investigators said the man was driving southbound in a white Dodge Ram pickup when he failed to maintain a single lane. His pickup, which had been traveling in the far left lane, hit a curb and continued southbound as it left the roadway. It ran across a grassy median where it then collided with a tree.

First responders with Cy-Fair EMS found the victim deceased at the scene.

No other details have been released, but an investigation by the HCSO’s Vehicular Crimes Division was underway.
