HOUSTON, TX — A man died early Friday after his car struck a large light pole off South Sam Houston Parkway in Houston’s Minnetex area, reports News 4 San Antonio.
The fatal collision occurred at the parkway’s intersection with Fayridge Drive at about 2:00 a.m.
According to Houston Police, the man was driving at a high rate of speed as he attempted to enter the freeway. Another vehicle appeared to have cut him off, causing the first driver to lose control of his car before colliding with the pole.
The first driver died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed authorities.
