Driver dead after T-boning 18-wheeler in early-morning Channelview crash

CHANNELVIEW, TX – A driver is dead after crashing into the side of an 18-wheeler truck at a four-way stop in Channelview early this morning, according to KHOU.
The crash happened in the 16600 block of the East Freeway service road near Bayou Drive at around 3:30 a.m., as the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck reportedly drove through a stop sign. There, he T-boned an 18-wheeler truck that was passing through the four-way stop.
The driver died at the scene.
The truck driver was not hurt in the crash.
Due to a lack of skid marks at the scene, authorities do not believe that the driver attempted to slow down before impact.
Speeding may have been a factor in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
